that's a pretty good idea cos it seems like it might be easy to adapt for our twisted means. Twisted Evil maybe tom could play the lyrics bit on guitar. i think that would be pretty sweet.

anyways, i'm getting into these guys lately, so we should really do http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDVax6wR6MY , http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tGPibr4GdoQ&feature=related or similar. i think the lyrics may reflect a few of your revolutionary views jamie (heheh), it did mine. (maybe i'm just weird)

herrrm i dunno about doing too many covers. we'd have to do pretty much what we did with rock lobster, i really don't like the idea of having to get it "right" or "true to the original"

maybe just ITEOTWAWKI(AIFF) if we were gonna do REM.

I still think it's worth it... to learn how to play as a group...

"ITEOTWAWKI(AIFF)" whut?

an acronym that long can only apply to one REM song, surely! clue: starts with "it's" and ends with "fine".
and there's no reason why we can't learn to play as a group with our own music. >_<

lol i wasn't sure if you were mixed up with Walk Idiot Walk

no, but that's harder and less fun in a way except we all have diff tastes... we should all get Last.fm and let it do the math... (it says how good your musical compatability with other users based on both peep's listening habbits Razz)

how is it harder and less fun? it's the exact opposite it's much easier not to have to worry about matching the performance of professionals, and much more fun than copying someone else note for note!

bull. add flair and you've "got it wrong"
besides, acting is different, actors do as they're told. do actors EVER write their own plays?

you can't "get it wrong" that's an impossibility...

and yes, they do
Shakespeare for example acted in his day.

of course you can get it wrong. you have to hit the "right notes" as defined by what the original song says. where's the creativity?

I use the term "cover" as an umbrella under which "copy" and "free interpritation" both sit.
Can we do "free interpritation"s of other people songs?

yeah but it's still a pain in the ass to do that when we could spend the time much more productively actually creating something ourselves, that's all.

I'd like to put some poems to music, that'd be fun (and a little nerdy afro )
